PUWER Inspections
PUWER Inspections – Ensuring Compliance and Safety
PUWER stands for the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998. Regular PUWER inspections are essential for identifying defective or damaged machinery and ensuring your equipment is maintained safely and effectively. Regulation 6 of PUWER requires that all work equipment undergo suitable inspection and maintenance at appropriate intervals.
A PUWER inspection can range from a visual assessment to a comprehensive system check with testing, and must be carried out by a competent person. Under PUWER, a “competent person” is required to examine and test equipment both before it is used for the first time and at regular intervals—typically every six to twelve months.
At Gavin Electrical Engineering Ltd, our qualified PUWER inspectors ensure all inspection requirements are met with minimal disruption to your site operations. Upon completion, you will receive a detailed report outlining the condition of your equipment and any recommendations for ongoing safety and compliance.
